The National Securities Commission Borsas (CNMV) announced that Borrell had been fined € 30,000 on the grounds that the company's shares in Abengoa were also used to sell the company's confidential information prior to his accession to the post Minister in 2015.
The CNMV received on 27 September and, in accordance with the decision published in the Official Journal of 24 November 2015, the company sold its shares in Abengoa for 9,000 euros. It is pointed out that Borrell committed a "very serious breach" in the securities law.
The French energy company Abengoa announced the launch of the liquidation process with a net debt of 6,300 million euros at the end of November 2015. Abengoa lost more than 60% of the shares during this period, 90% of its capital to avoid bankruptcy went to the bank and funds were restructured.
