According to the decision of the SBE, the principles to be applied during the election of the Metropolitan Municipality of Istanbul are as follows:
– Political parties eligible to participate in elections will not need to be re-identified and announced.
– The political parties that participated in the elections of March 31, 2019 will be able to participate in these elections.
– The voting day for this election will be Sunday, June 23, 2019.
– Political parties will no longer be able to determine the candidate, but for reasons such as death and resignation, vacancies will be filled by the Istanbul Provincial Election Council.
– Those who will participate as an independent candidate on Sunday (March 31, 2019) will be eligible to participate in this election.
– The principles applied for the election made March 31, 2019 when printing the combined ballots will be applied exactly.
– For the elections held on March 31, 2019, the electoral rolls updated and finalized will be used during these elections without further updating.
– Law No. 298 on the basic provisions for elections and the pollsters' voters list, published after the elections of 31 March 2019; Voters of the electorate will not be able to vote.
– No changes can be made to the voters' registers when renewing elections in the province of Istanbul. The comment will be deducted.
