Turkish television does not announce the finals of the West because of Kanter

Turkish broadcaster S Sport will not broadcast the Western Conference final between the Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trail Blazers, which includes Turkey's Enes Kanter.

"I can say clearly that we will not broadcast the Warriors-Blazers series," S Sport commentator Omer Sarac told Reuters. "Also, if Portland qualifies for the final, it will not be aired either … This situation does not concern us, but that's what it is."

Kanter has been separated from his native country for at least two years and has long been criticizing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Earlier this month, the NBA fired a local provider who managed the NBA's Twitter account, focused on Turkey, for failing to mention Kanter's efforts in Portland's second win against Denver in the Western Conference semifinals.

After this episode, NBA Assistant Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer, Mark Tatum, said: "Fans in Turkey can watch all the playoff matches featuring Enes Kanter and the Portland Trail Blazers on NBA League Pass and NBA TV International. "

Kanter's problem with Turkey dates back to 2017, when the government canceled his passport and asked for a warrant for arrest. Kanter has a green card, but because of security and passport issues, he did not visit London in January when he was with the Knicks, or in Toronto in February as a member of the Blazers.
