We can not forget how exciting this news is. We are going to have a television series based on The Sandlot from the original director David Mickey EvansAND the original distribution is back! Maybe you will remember this brief blip that we were going to receive a The Sandlot prequel something, but that apparently has turned into a sequel story instead.
Evans recently stopped with the podcast The Rain Delay and launched the sequel. (SlashFilm indicates that the announcement of the TV series is about 78:23, by the way.)
Apparently, the series already has its place on a no-name streaming service, and Evans has confirmed that Benjamin's original gang "Benny" Franklin Rodriguez (Mike Vitar), Hamilton "Ham" Porter (Patrick Renna), Michael "Squints" Palledorous (Chauncey Leopardi), Timmy Timmons (Victor DiMattia), Alan "Yeah-Yeah" McClennan (Marty York), Tommy "Repeat" Timmons (Shane Obedzinski), Bertram Grover Weeks (Grant Gelt) and Kenny DeNunez (Brandon Quintin Adams) are on board to return.
The story will run in 1984 and the characters will be adults, with their own children. Yes, we hope in detail how JUSTRAM managed to "get into the 60s". Obviously, he escaped, if he is in the 80s.
No word on Karen Allenbut we'll see her later in the day and we'll ask for it.
We will let you know what else we hear about The Sandlot TV shows.
