Among the items leaked in the recent Twitch security breach is a “don’t ban” list with streamers like Tyler1 and Ricegum.
Twitch recently suffered a massive security breach that included significant parts of the website leaking online. Some of the things leaked are the website’s source code, creator income, and a “do not ban” list that appears to offer some creators immunity from immediate suspension after a violation.
It’s unclear how up-to-date the list is, but it appears to list various creators along with a reason why they shouldn’t be immediately banned if they commit a violation.
Tyler1 is on the list of creators on the “don’t ban” list, with instructions for reporting any violations to specific staff.
Twitch’s Do Not Bans List Leaked
Posted to Asmongold’s subreddit on October 7, the list shows streamers like DJWheat, Ricegum, and lolTyler1. Next to each person on the list, it is written: “reason”, with a reason specific to each creator.
One person on the list is Emmett Shear – co-founder and CEO of TwitchTV – whose username “Sarbandia” is listed with a reason: “CEO / STAFF (Do not ban for any reason)”
He’s not the only big name on the “don’t ban” list, as Tyler1 and Ricegum both appear on the list for similar reasons: “Don’t suspend; escalate violations at (redacted) @ twitch.tv.
With staff being asked to hand off both creators to a specific staff member, it looks like the platform gives them special treatment when they break a rule.
With the recent data breach, this “don’t ban” list has surfaced with several big names.
In both Tyler1 and Ricegum’s motives are two employee emails, both of which were read aloud by political streamer Destiny.
Just a day after he was cut off from sharing employee emails, he was banned from the platform for allegedly sharing personal information.
Judging by the screenshot, there seems to be more to the “don’t ban” list. We’ll have to wait to see if any further information is released to the public.
