Twitch streamer AnnieFuchsia has had a pretty miserable first day trying out Amazon’s ‘New World’ MMORPG after being “permanently” banned for some extremely bizarre reason.
The closed beta of New World went live on July 20, and AnnieFuchsia was among many streamers ready to jump into the action.
While the first few moments seemed to go pretty well, minus a few connection-related hiccups, the streamer seemed to be enjoying herself.
That was until she decided to try and milk a cow and for some reason the game decided it was a bannable offense.
After she finished milking the cow, a bottle of milk appeared and a screen appeared claiming that she had received a “permanent ban”. Bad spelling aside, she was absolutely baffled by the decision.
“What ?! It’s not even spelled correctly!” She exclaimed.
The pop-up also failed to determine why it was banned, simply stating, “Reason: [You have been banned.]”
AnnieFuchsia felt like milking cows wasn’t allowed, but luckily Asmongold, another Twitch streamer, heard about her ban and called her to give her some help.
“My cat was telling me that you had been banned. I spoke to someone from the New World. They watch the stream and they said it was an accident, ”he revealed. “They are studying this.”
“Oh, so is it okay to milk the cows?” Annie asked confused.
“Unfortunately,” Asmongold replied jokingly.
“What do you mean, unfortunately? This is a good thing. This means that we can drink milk, ”AnnieFuchsia hastens to retort.
While the problem ended up being with the server, the fact that the “ban” happened after she milked a cow was downright ludicrous. Not to mention that the odd spelling seemed like a reminder of video games of yesteryear, like the infamous “you’re a winner” in Big Rigs.
Because the game is still in closed beta, it’s very likely that the absurd spelling and bans will be resolved, but that was the odd first impression of Amazon’s MMO to say the least.
