Days after a major revenue leak from Twitch, the site reportedly released its Strike Guide, which determines what content is and is not allowed to stream.
Twitch is the most popular online streaming platform, but just days after a October 6 leak revealed the earnings of each of the site’s top streamers, another may have made at least part of their confidential “Strike Guide” public.
The site has never shared its internal guidelines on what exactly is and is not allowed on the site, and what can result in a ban or suspension. However, claims for a “secret” guide for employees began to circulate in April 2021.
On October 9, a link to an Imgur folder containing multiple PDF files was posted on the r / Twitch subreddit, with the poster claiming that these were the true internal Twitch “Strike Guide” documents, explaining what matters like a strike and which streamers can be banned. for. The Reddit link was quickly removed by the moderators, but Dexerto went straight through the Imgur docs.

Overall, there are over 30 different topics covered in what is and is not allowed on Twitch. For each of them, there are many examples of what staff should refuse, take immediate action, authorize or pass on to superiors to make a decision.
These topics run the gamut of what Twitch considers, from accidental and intentional nudity to targeted harassment and hate speech. What is and is not considered “sexual content” on the site is also mentioned, along with a section covering gambling streams.
Another part explains how to handle the flows that end up involving crushes, arrests, medical emergencies and even death. In front of these heavy topics, the docs also explain how to deal with minor things like sending strong and / or flashing video links to streamers.
There are also sections on multichannel abuse, spam bots, and targeted abuse of others. Again, we were unable to confirm whether or not these documents are genuine internal Twitch leaks.
If legit, this would be Twitch’s second major leak in less than a week.
For fans wondering whether a mention of Dr. Disrespect is actually banned or not, there is no sign of him in the documents we were able to find. Even though there are rumors that his likeness is blacklisted by Twitch, these remain unfounded for now.
