Twitter called Sidney Powell’s website “dangerous” following the attorney’s numerous accusations of widespread electoral fraud.
The DefendingTheRepublic.org site says it was created by Powell to “defend and protect the integrity of elections in the United States.” The page asks for donations to support election disputes.
An attempt to click on the link to Powell’s website on Twitter is greeted with the message: “The link you are trying to access has been identified by Twitter or our partners as potentially spam or unsafe, in accordance with policy Twitter URL. “
The warning stated that the URL could fall into one of these categories: “malicious links that could steal personal information or damage electronic devices, spam links that mislead people or disrupt their experience, violent content or deceptive that could result in harm to the real world and certain categories of content which, if posted directly to Twitter, violates Twitter rules. “
Newsweek contacted Twitter for comment on the label, but the company said it had nothing more to share. Powell did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Powell has grabbed the headlines in recent weeks for his brief stint on President Donald Trump’s legal team. She appeared alongside Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani at a press conference last week, in which she accused Cuba, Venezuela, the Clinton Foundation, billionaire George Soros and Antifa of participating in a conspiracy to kill votes for Trump.
The lawyer never provided any evidence for his claims. Fox News opinion host Tucker Carlson said when her show asked her for proof, she “got angry and told us to stop contacting her.”

In the Georgia lawsuit, Powell also listed as a plaintiff Jason Shepherd, a GOP county chairman who said he never agreed to take part in the lawsuit.
Powell also represented former national security adviser Michael Flynn, pardoned by Trump on Wednesday afternoon. Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia during the 2016 transition. But the legal saga caught up for years, as he later withdrew his guilty plea and Ministry of Justice decided to close the case.
