Twitter cancels threaded replies because users find them difficult to use

Twitter had been testing threaded responses for some time before releasing the feature to all users in February of this year. However, the company is now reverting to the classic conversation method, with users finding the new threaded conversation confusing and difficult to use.

Instead of displaying a simple list of all replies to a tweet, a threaded conversation shows connected tweets by multiple lines to indicate the order in which they were posted. The feature was first introduced in the experimental beta app twttr, and then added to the regular app a few months later.

However, as first noticed The edge, the company decided to revert Twitter conversations to the old arrangement after receiving user feedback. Users should no longer see threaded replies on Twitter starting today.

In a tweet shared by the official Twitter support account, the social network claimed that users did not like having conversations on Twitter, as many of them claimed that the threads were “difficult to read and reach. “.

The company isn’t ruling out working on other ways to improve Twitter conversations in the future. At the same time, Twitter is disabling its beta twttr app created to try out new features that won’t necessarily be made public. “For now, we are shooting [twttr] so we can work on new tests to improve the chat experience on Twitter, ”the company said.
