One Nicki Minaj tweet after another is debunked this week.
The pop star said on Wednesday that she was invited to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to discuss her recent tweets about coronavirus vaccines, but the White House responded that she had just offered him a phone call. After saying she was banned from her Twitter account for the same tweets, Twitter said it didn’t penalize her in any way. A White House official told the Daily Beast: “As we have done with others, we offered a call to Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer her questions about safety and the effectiveness of the vaccine. “
Dubbing the continuing controversy over her reluctance to vaccinate “Ballgate,” Minaj said on Wednesday that she even planned her outfit for the occasion.
“The White House invited me and I think it’s a step in the right direction. Yes, I’m going. I’ll be dressed all in pink like The revenge of a blonde so they know I’m serious. I will ask questions on behalf of people who are laughed at just because they are human. #BallGate day 3, ”she tweeted.
The rapper made it sound like the tweet would be his last, at least for a while. She wrote via Instagram the same evening that she was in “Twitter jail” and unable to post.

The supposed White House invitation sprang from an announcement that made the pop star’s headlines earlier this week: she would not attend Monday’s Met Gala, which required attendees to be vaccinated. Before she was allegedly blocked on her Twitter account, Minaj spent much of Wednesday and the previous two days responding to praise and anger at her hesitation over the vaccine. Fans of Minaj, whom she calls “Barbz” after her own nickname “Barbie,” seemed divided over her skepticism and apoplectic over her later alignment with a strange bedmate: Tucker Carlson.
The Fox News host spent two nights of coverage on Minaj’s cousin’s friend saga on his eponymous show, even urging the man to call. The rapper tweeted a clip on Wednesday, calling Carlson’s segment a “bullseye” with an emoji. In the video, Carlson said, “It has nothing to do with the physical effects of vaccines that drive our political class crazy. It’s the last part of Nicki Minaj’s tweet that makes them angry, the part where she says you should pray over it, make the decision yourself as a free human being and “don’t be intimidated”.
