Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey earned a whopping $ 1.40 last year, but maybe he can expect a big boost this year.
It was the first time that Dorsey had been receiving a Twitter salary since it was returned to the bar of the microblogging site in 2015, the company disclosed Monday in a document filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Dorsey has denied all allowances and benefits over the last three years "demonstrating his commitment and confidence in Twitter's long-term value creation potential," Twitter said in his paper.
A paltry sum perhaps, but not unknown. The minimum salaries of executives have become quite common in Silicon Valley over the last decade or so; Previous executives who have opted for symbolic pay include Steve Jobs from Apple; Google Schmidt, Sergey Brin and Larry Page of Google; Yahoo Bart Carol and Terry Semel of Yahoo; John Chambers of Cisco Systems; and Larry Ellison from Oracle, among others.
But perhaps Dorsey will soon reach a higher level, with a doubling of his salary to $ 2.80? It is quite possible that Dorsey and its board of directors agreed on the amount at the end of 2017, as the company prepared for Transition of 140 character tweets at its current limit of 280 characters.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but at the same time next year, Dorsey might be able to use his salary to buy a gallon of gasoline, provided that the price do not ride – Bay Area Gas Station.
