Earlier this year, Lil Nas X released his controversial Satan shoes in conjunction with the hit song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”. The shoes, which contained a drop of human blood, led to a lawsuit and settlement between Nike and the cooperating shoe company MSCHF.
Reversing controversy and negative media coverage, Lil Nas X released his latest music video, “Industry Baby,” which satirically features him being jailed for selling Satan’s shoes, and WHEW. Twitter is in shambles on this video.

I really like Lil Nas X not because of his genius but because of his intention behind his work. He managed to turn the controversy / its chaos not only into a smash hit with “Industry Baby”, but that also doubles as a philanthropic effort for the Bail Project. He’s here to stay.
