During a Analyst event Today, Twitter revealed at least part of the paid subscription service it has been working on for some time. It’s called “Super Follow” and will allow users to get exclusive content, deals, and community creator access for $ 4.99 / month. Other announcements include testing a new group feature, “Safe Mode”, business growth goals, and more.
Perhaps the most exciting announcement today is the new “Super Follow” feature which will give creators an opportunity and even more the ability to directly monetize their audience on Twitter. It will compete with existing services like Patreon and OnlyFans.
Twitter shared several screenshots of the new feature during its Analyst Day. Benefits will include “Supporter Badge, Subscriber-only Newsletters, Exclusive Content, Offers and Discounts, Community Access”.
Super Follow subscriptions will cost $ 4.99 / month with the “Cancel anytime” option.
Rated by The Information’s Alex heath, a big change beyond the many creators, public figures, businesses and others who would likely use Super Follow is that journalists using the feature to bill for content could have a significant impact on publications around the world.

Spotted by The Verge, Twitter also said it was working on a new “safe mode” that will automatically block and disable accounts that abuse its rules.
Today included the announcement of some new goals that Twitter seeks to achieve by 2023. These include “at least doubling total annual revenue from $ 3.7 billion in 2020 to 7, $ 5 billion or more in 2023 ”, reaching“ $ 315 million or more mDAU in Q4 2023. ”
We haven’t heard any concrete details on when Twitter plans to launch these new features, but it recently ramped up recruiting for what we now know is the Super Follow feature.
