Two arrests made in an attack on famous PI Jack Palladino

Two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted robbery that left notorious San Francisco private investigator Jack Palladino fighting for his life – and Palladino himself helped break through in the case, have said the police and his family.

Authorities on Sunday identified the suspects in the Jan. 28 attack as Lawrence Thomas, 24, of Pittsburg, and Tyjone Flournoy, 23, of San Francisco.

They were both arrested for attempted robbery, aggravated kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, false imprisonment and elder abuse, as well as an amelioration for allegedly causing serious bodily harm to Palladino, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

Police made the arrests in the case after photographs were recovered from Palladino’s camera that the suspects attempted to steal.

Palladino, who has worked on high-profile cases including the Jonestown mass suicides, celebrities and political scandals involving clients like former President Bill Clinton and Harvey Weinstein, grabbed his camera and walked out of the house which he shares with his wife to take pictures just before the violence.

“He went out to take pictures of people doing silly things in the neighborhood,” Palladino’s wife and fellow detective Sandra Sutherland told the newspaper.

As Palladino took photos outside, the suspects pulled into a car and one attempted to steal his camera, his family said.

“They shot him down [with the car] and tried to get the camera, which they failed to do, ”Sutherland said, adding,“ Because Jack wouldn’t let go.

Palladino was dragged and he fell and his head hit the sidewalk before falling unconscious, his stepson Nick Chapman told the San Francisco Chronicle.

The private investigator was hospitalized and underwent surgery after suffering a head trauma. Palladino, who remained unconscious, was removed from the respiratory system and was breathing on his own, but he was not to survive, Sutherland said.

Sutherland said she didn’t know what the photos of her husband show, but the cops “found this evidence very useful in apprehending these two people.”

Although Palladino remained unconscious, she told him the good news.

“I said, ‘Guess what, Jack, they got the bastards, and that was all you were doing,” “Sutherland told the outlet.

“Jack is a difficult person to control,” she said. “But I really think that’s it.”

Prior to the attack, Palladino was in the process of closing one last deal before joining his retired wife, Chapman said.

Since the 1980s, Palladino and his wife have conducted surveys at their Victorian home in the city’s Haight-Ashbury area.

Their famous clients have included Don Johnson, Kevin Costner, Robin Williams, Huey Newton and Snoop Dogg.

Palladino was hired by Clinton during his 1992 campaign to help discredit women claiming extramarital affairs with him. Courtney Love once hired Palladino to speak to reporters investigating whether she played a role in the 1994 death of her husband, rock star Kurt Cobain.

His career took off even before he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley Law School, when Patty Hearst’s family hired him to help investigate her kidnapping in 1974 by the Party of the symbolic liberation.
