NEW ORLEANS- Two people died and eight others injured Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle in New Orleans.
The incident occurred on Block 3200 at Esplanade Avenu in the Bayou St. John area around 8:30 pm. during the Endymion parade.
According to Nola.com, the NOPD holds the suspect. Both victims were declared dead at the scene and at least eight were injured.
The police have not yet disclosed the names of the victims or the suspect.
This is not the first time that an incident like this occurs during Mardi Gras. Just two years ago, an intoxicated driver made it into the crowd at the Endymion 2017 parade, making more than 30 injuries.
