Two hikers found dead in Acadia National Park on Saturday

BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) – Two hikers were found dead in Acadia National Park earlier today.

Authorities believe the two fell about 100 feet along strips of ice-covered cliffs on Dorr Mountain.

The two victims are a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Rutland, Massachusetts.

Their identities have not yet been released.

The two were last heard from Thursday, with a search and rescue effort starting yesterday after they failed to return to check on their hotel.
