An Ohio man was arrested and charged twice with trespassing on Prince Harry’s and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s California estate late last year, authorities said on Monday.
Nickolas Brooks, 37, was convicted of trespass after deputies found him on Montecito property around 3 p.m. on December 26, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
MPs had warned Brooks two days earlier, when they said they found him entering the estate around 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
Brooks has been booked and released, authorities said. It was not known why he allegedly entered the property or what he was doing when authorities found him.
Efforts to reach him on Monday failed.
The couple have been in the spotlight after a rare and extensive interview this month with Oprah Winfrey about their breakup with the royals.
