Two-item limit on Halloween merchandise at Walt Disney World adopted to fight dealers

Often times, with the exits of goods in the Disney parks, the stock can be quickly cleaned by a few people buying multiple copies of each piece of the newly launched products then resell the merchandise at a higher price online. These “resellers” run out of stock and leave little for the average visitor to buy. For some collectibles and pins more prone to this reseller activity, there is a limit of two per item per guest in an attempt to make the stock last longer and be available to more individuals. And for the first time, this two-item limit was also placed on all Halloween merchandise.

With the launch of the new Halloween merchandise collection today (which you can find out all about, with prices, here), we’ve noticed signs affixed to each display with the purchase limit.

The purchase limit is common with pins, but usually limited edition or limited edition. These open edition pins have a limit, as Halloween merchandise is in such demand online that the shelf could only be emptied by a few people if given the opportunity to purchase as many as possible.
