Two men found dead in former Versace mansion

Two men were found dead at a Miami Beach hotel formerly known as the Versace mansion – and the site of the iconic fashion designer ‘murder.

Housekeeping staff called the police around 1:20 p.m. EDT Wednesday after finding the couple dead in one of the hotel’s suites. The men, aged 30 and 31, were from Pennsylvania and New Jersey respectively, authorities said.

The deaths are currently under investigation as a double suicide, but the medical examiner has yet to determine the ultimate cause of death.

The hotel is the site of the infamous murder Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace by serial killer Andrew Cunanan on July 15, 1997. Cunanan committed suicide eight days later on July 23.

“We are saddened by the tragic events at Villa Casa Casuarina”, hotel spokesperson mentionned, “and fully cooperate with local authorities in the ongoing investigation.”
