Two of Governor Gavin Newsom’s children have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, his office said on Friday.

Newsom, his wife Jennifer and their two other children have since been tested and tested negative for COVID-19, Gov. spokeswoman Erin Mellon said in a statement.

Mellon has confirmed that the Newsom family “follows all COVID-19 protocols.”

“The Newsoms continue to support the masking of unvaccinated people indoors to stop the spread and advocate for vaccination as the most effective way to end this pandemic,” Mellon’s statement continued.

No other details were disclosed, including how they were exposed.

The governor’s four children are under 12, the age at which children are allowed to be vaccinated under federal regulations.

This is breaking news and will be updated as more information becomes available. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
