Two Southwest Airlines planes cut wines at Newark Liberty International Airport early Saturday morning; no one was injured in the collision.

EWR officials reported that a southwesterly flown aircraft had "struck wings" with a plane parked on the tarmac of the A terminal of the air platform shortly after 7 am.

A spokesman for Southwest Airlines confirmed to Fox News that no one had been injured in the accident. The representative further stated that the 140 customers and the crew of the taxi plane to Fort Lauderdale had been re-booked on another flight to Sunshine State, with about five hours late.

Passenger Alex Diefenbach went on Twitter to share footage of the collision and cleanup carried out by EWR officials.

"Not very good to arrive at FLL before 14h," he wrote online

The exact cause of the accident remains unknown at the present time, reports ABC 7.

Newark airport officials have since announced via Twitter that the weather conditions were delaying some flights from EWR for some time.

Passengers traveling outside the air hub are advised to check in with their carrier for more information on flight schedules.

"We do not have a greater priority than safety and we thank our customers for their understanding as we apologize for their delay in their trip," said the Southwest Representative at Fox News. "The devices are currently out of service for review."
