Both are working with investigators, spokesperson for the Grand Rapids Police Department, Sgt. Cathy Williams said Thursday.

The vandalism occurred on March 27, according to the CNN affiliate, WOOD. Surveillance footage shows a man and a woman skating on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.

The pictures show them sitting at the top of the grave, where the man appears to try to rip a letter.

"We are saddened and very disappointed that in this way there is a lack of respect towards the burial place of the President and Mrs. Ford, or to a burial place in this way," said Geir Gundersen, Acting Director from the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum.
