Two goals in less than five minutes of Dušan Tadić propelled the Amsterdam, Ajax, football club into the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in 13 years on Tuesday night.

The 0-2 win over AEK in Greece was enough to secure Ajax a place in the knockout stages of the competition, which will begin after the winter break.

Tuesday's victory means Ajax increases its bank balance by about 60 million euros – the mere fact of reaching the turn of the sixteen teams guarantees the teams a bonus of 9.5 million euros, reported the NOS channel.

The Amsterdammers will face Bayern Munich on December 12 at the Johan Cruyff stadium to decide who will lead the group E. The Germans are currently ahead of the goal difference.
