Tyson Foods has recalled more than 190,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken fritters, some of which may contain hard plastic, said Saturday the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) (FSIS).
The recalled frozen ready-to-eat chicken fritters have been distributed to food service establishments and are not sold in supermarkets or grocery stores, writes FSIS in a press release. Officials said they had been informed last Wednesday that three people had found "foreign materials" in the breaded chicken donuts that had been distributed in schools.
People have not reported any injuries or other side effects after eating the chicken donuts.

8.2 lb. bags of fully cooked whole grain crispy chicken breast donuts were produced on February 28 and sold in boxes of 32.81 lbs. They carry the establishment number "P-1325" inside the inspection mark of the USDA.

The FSIS classified the recall as "Class I", which means that the food was hazardous to health and that there was "a reasonable likelihood that the use of the product would cause consequences. serious and harmful to health or death ".

Officials expressed concern that chicken donuts are in food service freezers and advised people to discard them or return them for replacement.
