U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert sparked her latest social media controversy on Thursday when she criticized a survivor of a school shooting who became a gun control activist.
The Silt freshman Republican, known for his captivating social media posts, was accused on Twitter of being a threat to the security of the U.S. Capitol by David Hogg, who survived the Parkland school shooting , Florida, in 2018, in which 17 people died.
“David, please,” Boebert replied in a quote tweet. “We have all seen how hard you are when you questioned yourself face to face. Give your keyboard a rest, my child.

The congresswoman was apparently referring to a video released earlier this week that now shows U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, harassing Hogg about gun control on the streets of Washington, DC, in 2019 Greene is a conspiracy theorist who allegedly believed the Parkland set and the 2017 Las Vegas set to be wrong.
Boebert’s criticism of Hogg, who has become a leading advocate for gun control since the Parkland shooting, has drawn criticism from Colorado Democrats.
“In my experience, those who have not experienced the trauma of mass shootings usually speak the harshest” tweeted U.S. Representative Jason Crow, Aurora Democrat and gun control advocate who often criticizes Boebert online and on the air. “But the harsh talk and intimidation of survivors is the ultimate sign of weakness.”
