DUBAI – Dubai Customs processed 203,650 transactions via its channels and smart services during the "No Service Centers" initiative organized by the Dubai Finance Department from October 21-25.
According to the statement, Dubai Customs has provided 48 key services through its smart, easy-to-use applications that have directly contributed to improving digital transformation rather than manually completing transactions, requiring center intervention and tedious effort.
Mohammed Al Hashemi, director of financial management at Dubai Customs, said, "Dubai Customs is leading the digital transformation process in the public sector, the first department to transform its electronics services in 2009 and the first to become a smart circuit in 2013. Intelligent platforms and applications designed to encourage dealers to conduct government transactions through smart channels and take advantage of the technical benefits of speeding up the customs clearance process.
He pointed out that about 90% of the total number of customs transactions carried out at Customs in Dubai was through smart channels, while 10% of transactions always took place through "wickets".
He predicted that the proportion of transactions that will pass through the department's intelligent applications to 100% by 2020, according to the guidelines of the leaders, that Dubai will officially stop using paper in government transactions by 2021 .
