Chelsea signed a contract with former international goalkeeper Robert Green for a year. "You think about your career, you do not really know where you are going, and suddenly you receive this call (from Chelsea) and you make the decision quickly," said Green, 38, on the club's official website. "I am very happy and have the honor to sign here."
Greene should be the club's third goalkeeper after Belgium's Tibo Cortua.
Green joined Chelsea in a free transfer from Hadersfield Town, who secured his stay in the Premier League, and played only one game in the League Cup last season.
Green began his professional career in 1998 Norwich City, before joining West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers Green played 12 selections for England between 2005 and 2012 and played a match at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa against the United States (1-1).
