"Dokani" application for smart shopping in traditional groceries

Faisal Salem bin Haider, an Emirati entrepreneur and founder of the smart commerce app, has managed to get his project from the local arena to global investment platforms as the first Emirati project to surpass the local market.

The traditional grocery store, disseminated throughout the Emirate, can be used to present and offer its products to consumers: it provides a pallet allowing each grocer to receive orders and deliver them home, after determining the geographical extent of deliveries. It also allows the user to know the outlets providing delivery services in a given geographical location.

Bin Haider told Emirates Al Youm that his project allowed the purchase of consumer products in supermarkets and grocery stores, following simple and easy steps from anywhere, thanks to its application on smart phone stores, highlighting that his project, which started last May, has successfully signed partnership agreements with Union Cooperative Society, Aswaq and Fresh & One Stores, serving consumers in much of Dubai.

"The construction of the project took three years and it cost me a capital of 800,000 dirhams before the project succeeds," he said. He pointed out that the project began a new stage after the entry of international companies specializing in collective investment, offering a portion of the shares of the company to the sale to other investors.

Bin Haidar explained that "international investment companies study projects presented by entrepreneurs in terms of idea value, financial feasibility, possibility of pursuit and expansion, and then allow other investors to contribute and realize financial gains, as well as the owner of the basic project.

He added that the economic trend in the expansion of international companies depends on the purchase of successful start-up companies in many parts of the world, in order to take advantage of innovative technologies and enter new markets. Examples include the acquisition of Market by Amazon and the attempt of Ober to buy Karim and Delvero.
