Death of Bruce Lee, discoverer of Raymond Zhu, and godfather of cinema in Hong Kong

Died at the age of 91, Raymond Chu, Hong Kong film mogul and famous martial arts film star, Bruce Lee, has passed away.

The first Zhou and Lee movie collection in 1971 was "Big Head" achieved a record box office turnover.

Zhou also enjoyed success in the 1980s with a group of films presented by another martial arts star, Jackie Chan.

Zhou is known as the "godfather" of Hong Kong cinema and produced more than 600 films before his retirement in 2007.

The words Lamentations and Lamentations were echoed by Zhu, including a note for the daughter of Bruce Lee Shannon, who thanked Zhou for "giving my parents a chance".

His friend Robert Chua told the Singapore Strait Times that Chu introduced Bruce Lee to the world and Hong Kong to the world. "

"Zhou's contribution to the golden age of Hong Kong cinema can not be ignored," said Carrie Lam, chief executive of Hong Kong, quoted by the China Morning Post.

Born in Hong Kong in 1927, Zhou worked as a reporter before entering the film industry.

He co-founded the Golden Harvest film production company with Leonard Ho Kun-cheong in 1970.

One of his films is The Fist of Wrath and The Dragon Road by Bruce Lee in 1972.

The "Dragon Entry", made in 1973, was a joint production with Warner Brothers and the first joint production between Hong Kong and Hollywood.

Zhou has also produced Hollywood movies, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a cinematic version of a much-loved comic book series.

In 1998, he received the Bauhinia Golden Star Gold Medal, the highest distinction awarded in Hong Kong, for his contribution to the film industry.

However, Golden Harvest suffered heavy financial losses during the Asian financial crisis and Zhu was forced to sell them in 2007.
