CAIRO: Orascom Construction Limited has added $ 520 million in new contracts to its projects in the third quarter of 2018, said Orascom Construction Limited.
The company added in a statement on the Egyptian stock market Monday that Egypt had acquired about 60% of these contracts, while the United States accounted for the rest of the balance.
The total volume of projects under implementation reached $ 4.1 billion at the end of September 2018.
According to the statement, the new contracts in Egypt mainly concerned the infrastructure and wastewater sectors, where the group has strengthened its position in these sectors.
In the United States, the company stated that it improved the number of contracts concluded in the second quarter and signed new projects in the commercial and industrial sectors.
The company reported that the group BESIX Nearly 380 million euros of new projects were added in the third quarter of this year, bringing the total new contracts to 1.9 billion euros and projects under execution. to 3.2 billion euros in the third quarter.
In July, Orascom Construction Limited announced that it has added new contracts worth US $ 650 million in Egypt and the United States to the value of projects under execution in the United States. during the second quarter of 2018.
