The number of foreign workers in the sector reached 44.28 000 in 2017, against 38.52 000 in 2016. Thus, the total number of Saudis and foreign workers reached 123.27 000 in 2017, against 92 000 in 2016 .

The number of activities in the sector has risen to 19, the highest rate of emiratization and other activities being 85.1% and 80% respectively in 2017.

The "telecommunications equipment reform" amounted to 24.3%, the "software deployment" to 26.3%, the manufacture of consumer electronic products to 26.5%, the "electronic equipment, communication and spare parts "" of 26.5%.

In terms of employee compensation, the value in 2017 is high at about 11.46 billion riyals, compared to 6.46 billion in 2016, up 77%.

Despite this increase, which is slightly higher in terms of compensation, the average compensation per worker has increased only 32.4%, the equivalent of 1897 riyals per month, to reach 7746 riyals per month in 2017, against about 5849 riyals per month in 2016.

According to the analysis, the increase of 77% of the compensation of employees in 2017 is due to the increase in employment in the sector, main cause of the increase in the compensation, while the higher average monthly earnings is the secondary cause of the increase in compensation.
