The Franco-Emirati Parliamentary Friendship Group has hailed the UAE's humanitarian and development initiatives around the world, highlighting the vitality of the programs and projects implemented by the UAE's Red Crescent Authority in Yemen.
This came during the reception of Dr. Mohamed Ateeq Al-Falahi Secretary General of the Commission Amelia Lacravi, President of the Franco-Emirati Parliamentary Friendship Group at the French National Assembly.
"The Red Crescent is one of the most active and fortunate humanitarian organizations to provide emergency assistance to those affected by events in the Yemeni arena," said Mr. LaCrafi, highlighting the admiration and appreciation of the group for its efforts to improve the humanitarian response to victims of disasters and crises.
Stressing that these meetings reflect the vision and direction of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Sovereign's representative in the Dhafra region, to highlight the role of the humanitarian state at all levels and to clarify the message and initiatives of the Red Crescent on the humanitarian scene in Yemen.
He said that the meeting had been coordinated with the Federal National Council as part of the cooperation and integration of the roles of state institutions in order to reflect the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the UAE united to alleviate suffering and preserve human dignity.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Red Crescent reviewed the State's strategy of providing humanitarian assistance to the different peoples of the world, stressing that it was based on the principle of non-discrimination whether it is sexual, racial or sectarian.
The secretary general of the local council of Abyan governorate, Mahdi Al-Hamed, and the director of the education bureau, Yahya Al-Yazidi, inaugurated the distribution of 20,000 school bags provided by the Red Crescent from the United Arab Emirates to first-year students.
