Cooperation between Glass Point and Occidental Amman to boost oil production in Oman

Glass Point Solar and Occidental Oman signed a cooperation agreement for the construction of a 2-gigawatt solar steam plant in the Makhzinah field in the Sultanate. Under this agreement, GlassPoint will use its innovative solar technology to produce up to 100,000 barrels of steam a day, which Western will purchase and use for heavy oil production. With the completion of preliminary studies, engineering work has begun to determine the scope of the project and plan to integrate solar technology into oil extraction operations in the Mukhizna field.
