(Reuters) – Newcastle United's is far from the relegation zone of the English Premier League after Ben Me's fault and adding a second header to Kieran Clark in order to help the team to impose 2-1 at home against Burnley on Monday.
Newcastle celebrated its third consecutive victory in the Premier League after failing to win one of the top 10 games to climb to 13th place with 12 of 13 games.
Newcastle has four points ahead of the relegation zone, three points ahead of Burnley, 17, who continued his run of six unbeaten games.
Newcastle coach Rafael Benitez congratulated the team for its strong performance.
"We have an idea of what we are doing," Benitez told Sky Sports. We have defended well and our efforts and approach have been extremely remarkable.
"We suffered a bit before the end and we were able to score the third goal and the team's defenders did a good job because the Burnley forwards were remarkable."
The start of the match was postponed to half an hour after Eddie Wollstenholm, the meeting's observer, lost consciousness in the hallway leading to the players' rooms. The observer was transferred to the hospital, but from the beginning of the match, Newcastle dominated the first period until he managed to win.
