(Reuters) – Former Formula 1 world champion, Fernando Alonso, will return to Daytona's 24-hour race in January, said the Wayne Taylor Racing team.
Alonso took part in last year's race with United Motorsports, owned by McLaren's Zack Brown, before winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans title with Toyota.

The Spanish driver left Formula 1 after the last race in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
"The return to the United States is exceptional," said Alonso.
"I hope the competition will win and will also enjoy."
Camoy Kobayashi, who will join Toyota at the World Championships, will join the 37-year-old driver, who will compete at the 500-mile Indianapolis in May in Daytona on January 26 and 27, as well as Jordan Taylor and Ranger van der Zandi, the Win drivers, Wayne Taylor.
