A German court decides to compensate a veiled school after refusing to use it

A labor court of the German state of Berlin ruled that the state had to compensate a woman after refusing to apply for a job in a school because of her headdress.
A spokeswoman for the court said the court had awarded her a month and a half salary of 5159 euros, noting that the woman had been neglected because of her religion.
At the same time, the Court did not question the Berlin Neutrality Act, which prohibits police officers, judicial personnel and public school teachers from wearing religious clothing during service.
The court found that the headdress in the case in question posed no perceived danger to school peace or public neutrality.
It should be noted that the Court of First Instance dismissed the women's case on the basis of the law of neutrality.
The state of Berlin intends to challenge this decision before the Federal Labor Court, said a state attorney.
The woman had applied for a job in a high school or vocational school in another branch of activity. Although women have not received benefit from the other school.
According to the court's conviction, this rejection implied racial discrimination on religious grounds, noting that the conversation about the progress made until the post office had taken place from the beginning around the headscarf worn by the woman.
