LONDON (Reuters) – An Arab city is expected to host next month's return match of the Libertadores Cup final between River Plate and Argentina's Boca Juniors, press releases announced.

The Spanish newspapers AS and Marca announced that Doha, the capital of Qatar, was a candidate for the organization of the final, alongside the Asunción, Miami and Genoa of Paraguay.

The final of the Libertadores Cup will be played between neutral rivals Rivera and Alboca on a neutral ground on 8 or 9 of next month, according to a decision of the South American Football Confederation.

The decision was made during a meeting with club presidents yesterday, after the postponement of Saturday's return match at Monumental Stadium in River Plate after the Boca Juniors attack by throwing stones and sticks by the host's supporters going to the stadium. A number of players were injured.

The first leg of La Bomponera, the Boca Fortress, ended with a 2-2 draw.
