New York striker David Villa will leave the club on Thursday, the club announced on Thursday.

Via, winner of the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010, leaves New York after four years in the group.

Vieira's contract with New York City ends on December 31 and Fia's next move on the ground is not yet clear.

Aged 36, he played 117 games with New York in the American league, scoring 77 goals and 26 assists.

"My experience here has been incredible," he said on the official New York website, "that experience gave me everything I needed as a football player, as well as on the personal and family plan. "

"I will always remember this love experience, my heart will stay here," he said.

With its 97 international appearances and 59 goals, Via has become the historical goal of the Spanish team.
