Adidas depends on recycled plastics

Berlin The German company adidas clothing and footwear relies solely on recycled plastics to manufacture its products by 2024. The company has promised to stop the use of "new" plastics in its clothing industry, Le Mony »Economic Television.

Adidas also plans to stop using new plastics that have never been used in its offices, outlets, warehouses and distribution centers.

Adidas is the latest company to pledge to limit the use of plastics. The Starbucks coffee chain announced earlier its decision to stop using plastic pipettes at its branches, and McDonald's is testing a program to reduce the use of plastic in Grande Britain and Ireland.

According to the Financial Times, Adidas expects to sell 5 million shoes made from recycled plastics this year and 11 million by 2019. The company has sold a million of these shoes last year.
