The Ruwais Industrial Complex, which is the main refining and petrochemical industry of ADNOC, covers about 70 square kilometers and is one of the most modern complexes of its kind in the world. The Ruwais industrial complex enjoys an excellent location, making it an attractive destination for major investments and expansion projects.
Located at the heart of east-west commercial traffic and on the roads leading to the targeted ADNOC markets, Ruwais has many advantages: it provides a continuous supply of high quality raw materials at competitive prices and offers adequate space for World class development, and logistics services and infrastructure.
A report released by the National Oil Company of Abu Dhabi (ADNOC) deals with projects in development and operation in the Ruwais industrial complex: the new refinery, with a production capacity of 600,000 barrels per day of petroleum products such as as LPG, Petrochemicals and Intermediate Distillates, as well as improving production capacity to include a wider range of raw materials and supplementing local marine raw materials.
The new refinery will add twice as much DNAOC refining capacity as it will increase the production capacity of distillate middle distillates, and the initial technical tender was launched last September to produce a blend raw materials and derivatives. 2.5 mt of polymers and support the possibilities of integration and flexibility of operations within Bruges 1, 2, 3 and other ADNOC group companies, thus contributing to the development of many sectors, such as the packaging materials sector and materials used in the transformation of infrastructure, energy and agricultural and medical uses.
It has a production capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per year of ethylene and includes polyethylene and polypropylene products, as well as other products, including MTBE and butadiene-based of benzene.
"The Gasoline and Aromatic Oils (GAP) project will be built in the Ruwais complex to increase automotive fuel production and fuel self-sufficiency in the UAE.The project uses 50% of the currently exported naphtha, with capacity production of 4.2 million tons per year of gasoline and 1.6 million tons per year of essential oils.
The project also aims to strengthen the refining capacity of the crude oil refining company by enhancing the refining capacity of ADNOC by creating additional capacity at the Ruwais refinery complex, which allows it to produce more ore at high levels. value intended for export to international markets.
The project will have a production capacity of 420,000 barrels per day.
Carbon black
The Black Carbon and Anodized Carbon Project (CBDC) involves the construction of an integrated complex comprising an anodizing unit and a PDH unit. The UAE is the world's fourth largest producer of aluminum and their products will make a major contribution to the local industry.
The production capacity is 40 000 tonnes per year of two different types of black carbon for the use of Borouge and 430.00 tonnes per year of high value anodized granular coal for local smelters. It will produce carbon black and anodized coal.
In order to strengthen Borouge 's current activities and increase its stake in the polypropylene market, Borouge awarded the contract for engineering, supply and construction of the PP5 plant, which will contribute to increase the production capacity of cDNA polymers to about 5 million tons per year by 2021, Productivity 500 thousand tons per year of polypropylene.
The project aims to increase the production capacity of 71,000 tons of waste per year, compared to 26,000 tons currently, and to find central environmental protection facilities for the waste management of all operating companies.
The expansion of the Ruwais complex includes the construction of the Linear Petrol Production Plant (LAB) to develop a new world-class linear kerosene production facility at Ruwais and the annual production of 150 kilotonnes of linear fuel ( LAB), the most widely used raw material in the industry. Household and industrial biodegradable detergents, softeners and soaps.
The waste disposal project targets "natural radioactive materials" for safe handling and disposal of radioactive material from used plant equipment provided during the exploration for hydrocarbons. The production capacity is 3000 tubes per year, 270 pipes per year of mineral waste and 230 cubic meters per year. Oil and other waste.

Heat recovery
The waste recovery plant project aims to take advantage of electricity and water production, contributing significantly to reducing the environmental impact of refining and production. of energy, as well as the improvement of energy efficiency.
It also helps to increase energy production by 30%, enhance self-sufficiency capabilities, increase the production of 100% desalinated water and enhance self-sufficiency capabilities.
The project aims to add 230 megawatts of electricity and 2,600 cubic meters per hour of distilled water production, while current capacity is about to be reached.
660 MW of energy and 14 million gallons of water a day.
