MADRID (Reuters) – Lt. Atletico Madrid missed the opportunity to find themselves top of the Spanish first division standings after conceding a goal before the 1-1 draw against neighboring Legianis on Saturday.
French striker Antoine gave Diego Simeone a fantastic free kick in the 69th minute in a seemingly close match at Potarkey Stadium.
However, Leganis retaliated with striker Gedo Carrillo, who was a victim of poor shooting in the 82nd minute after a Rodrigo Tarin center from inside the bar.
Atletico has not won three games against Legianis since its first appearance in 2016. Both teams were tied for their first two games at Potarki.
Atletico is second with 20 points, one point behind Barcelona, who will visit Rayo Vijcano later on Saturday.
