The film stars Dawood Hussein, Mashari al Majibel, Mohammad Akbar, Yusuf al-Hashash, Badr al-Shuaibi, Bashar al-Shatti and Jamal al-Radhan.

Next are Ahmed Khalaf's film "Ateej" and Mohammed Salah al-Majibil's film "Awakening".

The total prize money for this contest was 54,000 Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $ 178,000) divided into 29,000 dinars for the first rank, 14,000 for the second and 11,000 for the third.

In the short film competition, Ammar Al-Moussawi's film "Al-Khorfa" won second place, while Ahmed Eraj's film "Hatem Siddiq Jassem" won third place and the third film " Compars "by Abdel Aziz Al-Balam.

The jury of the festival received a special prize for the film "The house of the father" of the director Nora Al-Musallam.

The jury was composed of Kuwaiti writer and researcher Amer al-Tamimi and members of the Bahraini director Bassam al-Thawadi, Egyptian critic Tariq al-Shennawi and Jordanian actress Nadra Amran.

In its recommendations, the jury stressed the importance of organizing this festival every year, as the Committee witnessed the high number of works presented at this session by young people in Kuwait, despite limited potential.

The committee also recommended that "prices of future courses be divided into long films: best film, best director, best screenplay, best actor, best actress and best shot."

The second edition of the festival took place on October 15, about a year and a half after the first session held in March 2017. The competition was limited to the second edition of Kuwaiti films.

Fatima Al-Hussainan, head of the film department of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters and artistic director of the festival, said the festival is proving its success year after year.

"There was a lot of competition among the participating films showing the creative efforts of Kuwaiti youth in the film industry," she said at the closing ceremony at the National Library of Kuwait.
