BERLIN (Reuters) – Tauran Hazard scored two goals to give Borussia Moenchengladbach a 3-0 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf on Sunday, bringing the winner to second place in the Bundesliga.
Hazzard scored a penalty in the 48th minute to allow the hosts to take the lead before Jonas Hoffmann scored at close range after Mönchengladbach took advantage of a defensive foul of Düsseldorf in the 67th minute.
Belgium scored its second goal Sunday, eight minutes after the end, with a shot of 12 meters that has changed course to bring to seven the number of goals scored in the last seven Bundesliga matches.
This was the Bundesliga's eighth consecutive win in a season-long rally, prompting them to finish second at points in Bayern Munich, third, who qualified Saturday in Freiburg.
Fortuna is 17th with five points, while Borussia Dortmund leads the standings with 24 points after a 1-0 win against Wolfsburg on Saturday.
