A woman who died of a rare type of dementia while she was pregnant with her son had to die from a genetic factor, the Daily Mail reported.
The source added that the husband of the deceased woman had also succumbed to the "Kreutzfeld Jacob" disease, caused by a degenerative brain disease and resulting in dementia and death.
The doctors were perplexed when they learned that the Danes were healthy and had symptoms of the disease before pregnancy, but the fetus was transferred to the father's inherited situation.
The researchers are now likely to have inherited the gene responsible for the father's disease and then transferred it to the mother while he was fetus in the uterus.
