Esperance is the hero of the African Champions League at the expense of Al Eghl

Saqr Esperance won the Champions League for the third time in his history, after defeating Egyptian club Al Ahli in the tournament final with four goals in three on a full round trip.

Although Esperance lost 3-1 in the last leg, their 3-0 win at the Olympic Stadium in Brades gave the Tunisian team the African title.

The second leg had started cautiously on both sides until the hosts put pressure on the goal of the visitors, but to no avail after having spoiled more than one occasion.

In the second half, Esperance recovered its calm and balance and tried to confuse Ahli's accounts and score the second goal. This was done in the 54th minute by Saad Baqir as well.

Despite Ahli's shyness to return to the result, the pitch owner continued to strive to double the yield and managed to make it in the 86th minute by Anis Al-Badri to end the return leg .

Esperance will win the 2018 Champions League title on the continent and qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in December.
