LONDON (Reuters) – Newcastle on Monday beat Manchester United 2-1 at home against Burnley 2-1 at the end of the English Premier League.

The two teams tied for points (9 each) and are behind in the overall standings, but Newcastle had all three points to 13th, while Burnley stayed in 17th.

The three goals were scored in the first half and Newcastle opened early with Burnley Ben Leigh, who pushed Federico Fernandez's powerful shot past goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Sieran Clarke was second behind the guests by 23, before Burnley reacted by attacking Sam Fox, who hit the ball from the edge of the area and put the ball in the net with Slovak goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Despite the attempts of both teams in the second half, the score has not changed.
