Cristiano Ronaldo has interpreted singer Selena Gomez as the most followed user on the social networking site Instagram.
The 33-year-old Portuguese, who recently left Real Madrid for Juventus, tops the standings with 144.4 million users, surpassing singer and actress Selena Gomez, who has 144.3 followers two million.
Ronaldo is a persistent participant on the site, posting photos of him on football fields and his family, and allowing his followers to watch him during his challenging fitness exercises.
The singers Ariana Grande (132 million followers), Kim Kardashian (120 million) and Beyonce (119 million) are among the celebrities followed by millions of people on Instagram.
The Barcelona star, Argentine Lionel Messi, who is Ronaldo's rival on the football throne in the world, has failed to attract only 100 million followers.
