National Defense Conference in the era of technological innovation concludes its work

The Ministry of Defense concluded its annual conference entitled "The Leaders of the 21st Century War", which theme was "National Defense in the Age of Technological Innovation", with the participation of 39 a number of senior civilian and military officials, experts, specialists and academics at the national, regional and international levels.

On Thursday morning, at the Rabdan Academy, a group of specialized workshops was organized on the basis of the results and recommendations of the first day of the conference, in order to bring out complementary and consensual visions at the level of all the national components, with local and international stakeholders and a number of experts.

During the workshops, participants discussed a series of topics related to the theme of the conference "National Defense in the Age of Technological Innovation", such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Artificial intelligence in defense, autonomous systems, robotics, independent systems, advanced materials, biotechnology, institutionalization of innovation and the use of innovation in future conflicts and the ethics of innovation. The conference, which lasted two days and was held at the headquarters of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research and at the headquarters of the Rabadan Academy in Abu Dhabi, allowed to review the role and implications of innovation and technology for national security and defense in the context of the rapid development of technological innovation.
