Former Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazario defended his compatriot Neymar da Silva after criticizing Mexico for deliberately wasting time and claiming injuries.

Ronaldo strongly defended Neymar, claiming that he was not a submarine but submissive to great violence on the part of the competitors on the grounds.
The retired Samba player asked the referees to better protect Neymar on the pitch, as he was adequately protected against defenders' attacks.
Mexican coach Juan Carlos Osorio was Niemar's most offensive, pointing out that he deliberately played more than once and wasted time, describing what he did as a shame that has nothing to do with football.
Former international trio Alain Shearer, Peter Schmeichel and Eric Cantona criticized Neymar's actions in the first four games of the finals.
But Ronaldo came out to defend his compatriot, saying, "There are many ways to see and interpret football, I am against all these views, Neymar is not a sub -marine and does not claim to hurt and represent.
He added: "He is an intelligent player in his movement who knows how to defend against the blows of the opponents, and I do not think that the referees give him enough protection."
Ronaldo continued: "When players hit me repeatedly, I feel a great injustice, the criticism is nonsense, and Neymar is one of the greatest players who hindered the entire championship."
