Russian fashion designer turns waste into clothing

None of us expect the waste to be good enough, but the Russian designer Artur Brage believed in what he thought was impossible: making garments from waste and using the most damaging materials to the environment, such as flasks and plastic bags.

Artur Braga, a Russian fashion designer who is interested in the environment, believes that what is missing can be a treasure for others. In this context, he designs clothes from recyclable materials.

He prefers the most environmentally harmful materials such as flasks, plastic bags, aluminum containers and construction waste.

The Russian designer travels to his home in breakages and dumps, not only to find new ideas, but also to collect raw materials and bring life back to life.

While he was working alone before, Braga no longer has to gather all the material he needs: he receives donations from his followers.

Braga and his work have won several fashion competitions in Russia, including the "Rachan Siloit" prize, a prestigious prize awarded to budding fashion designers, for a group that uses newspapers.

A report released by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment in 2016 shows that only 2-3% of household waste is recycled.
